Volunteer opportunities
There are so many ways to get involved, and Legion Branches are looking for new members and new ideas to support local Veterans and their community. Our impact is bigger together and every member makes a difference.
Soap box derby - August 27, 2023
Every year the Legion supports the Allan Haan Manotick soap box derby. This year will be our 11 th year. This is an event put on for the youth of the village, and we always get an excellent turnout. This year it is being held on Sunday, August 27th.
The Derby is completely volunteer-run, and is dependent on the good will of the people who volunteer to work to make it a success.
Volunteers need to help with the

set up and breakdown - Saturday before the Derby later in the afternoon for about an hour
-
barricade duty - approximately 4 hours should take about 4
-
teardown - takes about an hour or so
-
other duties that arise.
The Legion is open for a libation when the work is done.
Please consider volunteering. We are always looking for assistance, and the more volunteers we have, the less time you may need to commit to. You can contact Theresa Roberts at troberts1163@yahoo.ca or Peter Delaney at either rifleman1960@bell.net or through the Legion.
